Martin Place, mural

This mural has recently been painted on the wall of the MLC Centre, near one of the Martin Place entrances. The artwork is of ‘Fighting’ Father Dave Smith, a professional boxer, black belt and parish priest who uses boxing to help troubled youth in Sydney. It was created by artist Luke Cornish, also known as E.L.K, who has been boxing with Father Smith and has developed a strong bond with him. It is part of the ANZ Street Art Project series, where four murals have transformed unused walls around the city.

  8. Hi Jim, There is a lot of expression in that mural. What an interesting man. I admire what he is doing for troubled youth. I am not crazy about boxing though. However, it it works, I believe in his ideals to be positive and to help others.
    Happy Blue Monday.
