Cronulla, Elouera Beach

Elouera is one of the surf beaches along Bate Bay, in the southern suburb of Cronulla. The surf lifesavers patrol the beach from a tent on the beach between the red and yellow flags, a short distance from the lifesaver's tower and club. The lifesavers use these yellow surfboards and life preservers to rescue swimmers or surfers from the ocean.

  1. I hope they had a relaxing day without too much to do.

  2. The shape of the tent interests me. I've not seen that kind of shelter here.

  3. The tent looks like it would provide lots of much needed shade.

  4. I am not familiar with Cronulla, but I do know how essential the life savers are. Underpaid, overworked and put in danger themselves, they need lots more recognition.

    1. Cronulla has a long stretch of beach with surf lifesaving clubs at Cronulla, North Cronulla, Elouera and Wanda.

  5. What a cool tent. That's quite the setup they have there!

  6. At least you still seem to be retaining your wide beaches round Sydney. Ours on Port Phillip Bay seem to be diminishing fast. Sandbagging is not the answer. Great looking beach.
