Sans Souci, Kogarah Bay

This view of a small reserve with a walkway leading down to Kogarah Bay, is from The Promenade, in the southern suburb of Sans Souci. The suburb took its name from a grand house built on Rocky Point Road by Thomas Holt, a wool merchant and politician, for his German wife. It was named after Sanssouci in Potsdam, Germany, the summer palace of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia.

  3. I went on a guided tour of Sanssouci, the summer palace of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia. We were visiting Potsdam and found this gorgeous Versailles-like palace in urban Berlin!

Now you tell us that Sans Souci is actually a gorgeous part of Sydney! You have to love blogging :)

    1. Hels, the suburb name does indeed have a link to that palace. I'll add the history to the post.
