Botany, Uniting Church

Botany Uniting Church is located along Botany Road in the eastern suburb of Botany. The heritage listed church was built in 1902 in the Federation architectural style. It was a Methodist Church until 1977 when the Congregational Union in Australia, the Methodist Church of Australasia and the Presbyterian Church of Australia joined together to form the Uniting Church in Australia. The decorative gables above the windows have been removed an after the church was gutted by fire in 1984, damaged bricks along the roofline were replaced without a gable.

  4. Like the first impression of this church very much, but I wished they had not highlighted the two front roofs ...I wonder if it used to be a Gothic arch like the rest. Thank you for your kind comment on my weekly posts. Do you have e new camera or lens - your captures are taken up closer, or somehow they look more detailed (I like it!).

  5. What's it being used for now if its no longer a church? Thanks for explaining why the bricks were different. That was my first question.

    1. It's still a church, Marcia. It was a Methodist Church originally and a Uniting Church now.
