The Old Manse stands beside the former St John's Presbyterian Church, along Oxford Street, in the inner city suburb of Paddington. This heritage listed, two storey building was built in the Colonial Georgian architectural style in 1845 and was used as a school house. The church and manse were redeveloped in 2015 and this building is now home to the offices of a real estate agent.

ReplyDeleteThere wasn't one on the original building. This one is part of recent redevelopment but it may have replaced another one which had been added.
DeleteThat is interesting. I am old enough that in the small towns that we lived in while growing up, many churches had a manse that the pastor and his family lived in and it was always an issue with keeping the manse up to date and in good repair.
