Observatory Tower is located along Kent Street, in the inner city suburb of Millers Point. Overlooking Observatory Hill, the tower is home to 199 luxury apartments. It was originally built in 1964 as the IBM Centre, an office building with 21 storeys. In 1996 it was converted to apartments with 10 storeys added to the original steel structure.
A very contemporary design.
ReplyDeleteIt's too long with nice design . Great capture Jim .
ReplyDeleteNicely converted
ReplyDeleteInteresting building. The 10-story addition really stands out. Bet you could get some great sky shots from up there!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I'd trust those additional stories or not!
ReplyDeleteI cannot even imagine a building that tall, Jim. Remember, I'm in the woods and used to 100' tall trees...:)JP
ReplyDeleteInteresting history of the building.
ReplyDeleteNice shot - it would make me nervous living in a building that tall, or one that had been added to like that.
ReplyDeleteTall buildings are common in the cities and you can get great views from up there!
ReplyDeleteMust have great views!
ReplyDeleteLady Fi, it has views to Sydney Harbour from this side of the building, which would be spectacular.
