The Exchange is a six storey building located along Little Pier Street at Darling Square, in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. It was designed by Japanese architecture firm, Kengo Kuma & Associates and was completed in 2019. Wrapped in over 20 kilometres of timber ribbons, the unique spiral-like building gives the appearance of a hive.
Darling Square Library is spread over two floors and a childcare facility spans over two floors. The ground floor houses a food hall, the mezzanine a restaurant and the rooftop has a bar.
