Hurstville, sculpture and mural

The Miles Franklin
statue is located on the corner of MacMahon Street and Dora Street, in the southern suburb of Hurstville. Miles Franklin, best known for her classic Australian novel “My Brilliant Career”, lived and worked in the Hurstville area. This colourful mural was created in 2020 by artist Mandy Schoene-Salter, also known as MAN.De and replaces a former mural which depicted scenes from the life of Miles Franklin.

  1. Both are nice. The mural cathedral your eyes. But I really like the sculpture

  5. This is a beautiful new mural, but I think the first one represented Franklin better. The new one is certainly colorful.
