The Miles Franklin statue is located on the corner of MacMahon Street and Dora Street, in the southern suburb of Hurstville. Miles Franklin, best known for her classic Australian novel “My Brilliant Career”, lived and worked in the Hurstville area. This colourful mural was created in 2020 by artist Mandy Schoene-Salter, also known as MAN.De and replaces a former mural which depicted scenes from the life of Miles Franklin.
I like both of them.
ReplyDeleteBoth are nice. The mural cathedral your eyes. But I really like the sculpture
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought about Miles Franklin since reading My Brilliant Career as an HSC novel back in 1965. Thank you, Hurstville :)

ReplyDeleteHard to decide which is the "winner" here!
