Alexandria, Sydney Park, wetlands

A couple of ducks glide across a pond in Sydney Park, a large recreational area in the inner city suburb of Alexandria. Some spring flowers have begun to bloom on the trees and bushes. The former brickworks here have been transformed into parkland with four cascading wetlands that attract birds. Stormwater is collected and recycled from surrounding suburban streets to provide constant running water in the wetlands.

  1. Great idea to recycle rain water! Here in Texas it rains very few days it seems! Great image, Jim.

  3. Good idea, Jim. Really good picture. We water golf courses here in Texas with recycled water from the sewage plant, don't drink that stuff.
