Tempe, anchor

This anchor monument was once located at Tempe Recreation Reserve, in the inner west suburb of Tempe. It stood beside a walkway along the foreshore of the Cooks River. If there was a plaque here explaining its history it had disappeared just like the anchor has now.

  1. I was thinking of Tempe Arizona, and there would be precious little reason for an anchor there - it's desert!

    1. I believe both Tempe, New South Wales and Tempe, Arizona are named after the Vale of Tempe in Greece.

  2. It's a nice monument, sad that people have stolen the items
