Tamarama, skywriting

A small plane was skywriting over Marks Park, in the eastern suburb of Tamarama during the 24th Sculpture by the Sea exhibition. The plane's acrobatics were breathtaking but the strong winds did not give the expelled smoke a chance to form a full message. This was presumably being filmed by a drone which was captured here in the smoke trail.

  1. Too bad about the strong winds, but a wonderful photo!

  2. I love how your photo and the SWF photo this week are similar. Skywriting seems very ambitious, especially when it is windy.

    1. It was something cheerful but I was so busy trying to capture the perfect shot that I can't recall what it was now.

  4. This is pretty funny--kind of like a little kid with her first crayons. But good on the guy for even trying with those winds! Nice shot, though.

  5. I haven't seen skywriting in years. It was a lot more common when I was growing up. It did make for an interesting sky picture.
