This walkway runs through Camperdown Memorial Rest Park, in the inner city suburb of Newtown. Camperdown Cemetery was consecrated in 1849 and remained the main burial ground for the Church of England until the opening of Rookwood Cemetery in 1868. St Stephen's Anglican Church was built in the middle of it in 1874, still standing behind the graffitied sandstone wall. All but four acres of the cemetery were resumed in 1948 to create this park. The lamps were decorated in 2023 with LGBTIQA+ progress pride colours to create the Pride Pathway
