This is part of an extensive mural along the walls of the walkways and travelators leading from the underground car park to Rockdale Plaza shopping centre, in the southern suburb of Rockdale. The mural was created by Joe Whyte in 2022 and depicts historic moments and landmarks from the local area.
That's very cute. #MuralMondays
ReplyDeleteGreat mural in the staircase!
ReplyDeleteTerrific work!
ReplyDeleteI like the water reference and how people are jumping into the water. When I first saw it, I thought of the guy jumping into a swimming pool from a high dive. But as I looked further, it could be he is also surfing and riding a wave. This is one very unique mural, Jim. I'm sure it's even more significant to the locals.
ReplyDeleteI´m very sadly way too chicken for that kind of fun - very well done!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mural!
ReplyDeleteLovely mural Jim, and obviously very meaningful to the locals. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals.

ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. ☺
I like this -- wonder what historic moment the guy jumping off the board is commemorating!
ReplyDeleteoh, oops on second look I see it is a rock -- local landmark I assume!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit confusing. It's supposed to be a historic pier in Botany Bay but it does look more like a cliff.
DeleteTo me it looks like it's showing the area is a popular swimming spot
