The Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel is located on the corner of Cowper Wharf Roadway and Bourke Street, in the inner city suburb of Woolloomooloo. This heritage listed building was formerly the Macquarie Hotel, designed by Ernest Lindsay Thompson and built in 1922 in the Inter-War Free Classical style.
Looks like quite an upmarket building now.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what Inter-War Free Classical style means in practice, but the pub exterior looks very smart. Is the interior enjoyable these days?
ReplyDeleteIt has had some refurbishment but some of the original features have been retained in interior.
