Haymarket, Market City

Market City is located along Hay Street, in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. This complex contains a produce and flea market known as Paddy's Markets on the ground floor, the Market City shopping centre on three levels above, and a skyscraper apartment building called The Peak. The Vegetable Market building was built in 1909 in the Edwardian style with the façade preserved and restored in the 1980 redevelopment. A tram has stopped at the Paddy's Markets Light Rail Stop, which is on the Central to Dulwich Hill line of the Sydney Light Rail Network.

  1. Very beautiful Tram, but also the facade of the Vegetable Market was built in 1909 in the Edwardian style.I love it when the old and the new coexist!!

  4. I prefer Paddy's Market. The Edwardian building looked specially designed for its purpose.
