Stoddart House is a commercial building along York Street, opposite the Queen Victoria Building. The heritage listed former warehouse was built in 1908 in the Federation Warehouse style. It was originally known as the Frank F Bundock Building, named after its owner. Between 1932 and 1944 lessees included S G Blanton Ltd and Stoddart Properties Ltd and it became known as Stoddart House. In 1981, the property was purchased by Corporate Apparel Ltd, the present owners and occupiers.

The facade reminds the history it bears
ReplyDeleteBeautiful building reminiscent of local history!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure we have any Federation Warehouse style architecture in Melbourne. So it is good to see that Stoddart House is still handsome now
ReplyDeleteI've seen buildings in a similar style in the United States. This must have been a popular style and I like it.
ReplyDeleteSolid looking building
ReplyDeleteI love how cosy this building appears tucked in-between the other buildings. Thanks for sharing and for linking up with #MySundaySnapshot.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful old building, beautiful as well as functional, Jim. Thanks for participating in the "My Sunday Best" meme.
