This ornamental clock is part of the Market City complex, located along Ultimo Road, in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. This complex contains a produce and flea market known as Paddy's Markets on the ground floor, the Market City shopping centre on three levels above, and a skyscraper apartment building called The Peak. The Vegetable Market building was built in 1909 in the Edwardian style with the façade preserved and restored in the 1980 redevelopment.

the place is so crowded every time I visited
ReplyDeleteNice shot. I used to own and live in an apartment in The Peak. It was lovely then but so many tall buildings have gone up in that area I suspect our magnificent view from the 30 floor would be no more. It was always vibrant around there but super busy these days.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is buzzing around there, all the time.
DeleteWhat a great asset for your city. I like the look of the building.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful building and a beautiful clock.
