Kirribilli, wharf

The Jeffrey Street wharf, near the Sydney Harbour Bridge, is located in the north shore suburb of Kirribilli. This is a photo from 2015 so the Sydney skyline across the harbour has changed considerably since then.

Walsh Bay, wharves

Dawes Point, wharves

Kogarah, mural

This mural featuring reeds and a creek is on the side of the former Kogarah Civic Centre extending to the footpath and transformer, located on the corner of Post Office Lane and Wicks Lane, in the southern suburb of Kogarah. The suburb name Kogarah is derived from an indigenous word meaning “Place of Reeds”. The administration building was for the former City of Kogarah local government area which had reeds in its logo. The local council merged with the Hurstville City Council in 2016, to form the Georges River Council.

Dawes Point, Sydney Harbour Bridge


Dawes Point Park is located at the northern tip of The Rocks, beneath the southern approach to the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the inner city suburb of Dawes Point. This view is across George Street which is closed to traffic on weekends for the Rocks Markets stalls, where local artisans sell their handcrafted artworks, jewellery and food.

Dawes Point, wharves

 
A view of the Walsh Bay wharves, in the inner city suburb of Dawes Point, in front of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from a boat on Sydney Harbour. This Sydney Rivercat Class ferry is part of the fleet that cruises up the Parramatta River. It was acquired in 1993 and named after Marjorie Jackson, an Australian Olympic athlete. A train can also be seen crossing the bridge.

Rockdale, mural

 
This is part of an extensive mural along the walls and pillars of the walkways and travelators leading from the underground car park to Rockdale Plaza shopping centre, in the southern suburb of Rockdale. The mural was created by Joe Whyte in 2022 and depicts historic moments and landmarks from the local area. This depicts Rockdale Town Hall from a past era, when it was decorated in Coronation Celebration Festoons in 1953.

Pyrmont Bridge

 
Pyrmont Bridge is a swing bridge that crosses Cockle Bay at Darling Harbour and connects the inner city suburb of Pyrmont with the Sydney central business district. The bridge was opened in 1902 but closed to traffic when freeways south of Cockle Bay were built and became a pedestrian bridge in 1988. Behind it is the W Sydney, a hotel completed in 2023 and the Sydney Convention Centre. The giant flag pole stands in Cockle Bay

York & George

 
York & George is a 38-storey mixed use high rise building, named for the two streets that it is situated between. It is flanked by two heritage-listed buildings along York Street, Carlton House and Spiden House, with a public pedestrian walkway (an historic cartway) connecting to George Street under this modern residential tower.
