St Sophia Greek Orthodox Church is located along Bourke Street, in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. This heritage listed church was originally built as a Congregational Church known as St Sophia and Her Three Daughters. It was designed by William Boles and built in 1880 in the Victorian Gothic style.
Interesting building. It actually looks more modern to me.
ReplyDelete...it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lisa - it does look rather modern. I tend to think of much more fussy facades at the time this was built. So glad you shared it with us at https://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2024/12/donegal-town.html
