The Sydney Opera House was illuminated for the Vivid Sydney Festival which ran from 22 May to 13 June 2026. Vivid Sydney is a festival of light, music and ideas, the biggest festival of its type in the world. This year's "Lighting the Sails" display was called "Opera Mundi", created by French multimedia artist Yann Nguema and scored by Romanian classical and electronic composer Mischa Blanos.

Is Sydney vivid both visually and musically during the festival? Are all the events outside, given winter has started?
ReplyDeleteYes, Vivid is a light and music festival. No, Vivid has indoor events too.
DeleteVivid Sydney looks absolutely magical, and catching the Opera House illuminated like this must be incredible to see in person. The fact that Yann Nguema uses custom computer code instead of AI to hand-build those nature-inspired patterns makes the "Opera Mundi" display even more fascinating.
