This historic substation #16 in the art deco style, is located along Ormonde Parade in the southern suburb of Hurstville. St George County Council was once the electricity supplier for this area, set up in 1922. In 1979 the organisation was dissolved and Sydney’s electricity services amalgamated to form the Sydney County Council which eventually became Energy Australia and now Ausgrid.
