Banksia railway station, mural

The waiting room at Banksia railway station has recently been adorned by a mural of a Coastal Banksia by local artist Leonie M. Morrison.

  1. Yes, I like the colours, too.

  4. I like this mural very much - good to see Australian flowers. I love Banksias, they're always so colourful, but then again most Aussie native flowers are.
    Cheers.

  5. Julie, no the railway sations haven't been privatised. I have been reading that CityRail along with some local councils have been supporting programs within the community to get artwork by local artists featured on their properties.

  6. That's great. I wish they'd do something at Arncliffe - the waiting rooms are always locked.

  8. Beautiful sight indeed. Assume that it would be possible to let the train go, while getting lost into the blue and orange.

    A colourfull week for you.

  9. Beautiful murals. I love the one with the corn.

  10. Bill S, they resemble a corn stalk but they're actually a completely different plant. These are Banksia flowers, a native plant to Australia.
