A view of Circular Quay Railway Station and the Circular Quay Ferry Wharves. Circular Quay is a major Sydney transport hub, with a large ferry, rail and bus interchange. The railway station, built in 1956, is on the City Circle line servicing a number of City Rail services. The ferry wharves are a terminal for Sydney Ferries services. The Cahill Expressway runs above the railway platforms, linking the Sydney Harbour Bridge with the Eastern Distributor.

I haven't ridden a ferry in years!
ReplyDeleteI love your posts - terrific photos as well as keeping me in touch with my favourite city where our daughter and family lives. I went on the Manly ferry last December when we were visiting from the UK - hooray! Want to ask you some Qs about the Overseas Passenger Terminal - but will do that later.
ReplyDeleteUnas fotografias muy bonitas.
ReplyDeleteSydney me parece una ciudad preciosa
Again an alluring picture to step in and get aboard.
ReplyDeleteLast time I've been on a ferry must be a decade ago or so. sigh. Please have a wonderful Tuesday.
It'd be nice to have transportation alternatives. Here you can drive your car, fly on a plane, walk, or ride your bike.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff! I can't help but think of Circular Quay as the "real" Sydney. I am inspired to post a photo of me there in 1939/40.
ReplyDeleteBruce, I'd be really interested in seeing a photo of the quay back then.
ReplyDeletegreat options!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have great transportation! We have lots of ferries here, too. Great post and photos as always! Have a wonderful week!

Great shot! We don´t have many ferries now since all the bridges have been built.
ReplyDeleteNames keep coming back when reading your posts. Thanks so much. I can't remember the Bennelong buildings. Are they rather new?
ReplyDeleteAn interesting post! Circular quay is a wonderful area...
ReplyDeleteSydney Harbour Charter
Sure looks like a booming place!
ReplyDeleteI see Sydney has cats as well. I wonder if they're made by the same people who make ours.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, J. Circular Quay is one of my favourite places around Sydney.
ReplyDeleteJossie, the apartments are relatively new, They were completed in 2003 and were quite a controversial development at the quay.
ReplyDeleteBill, they are known as the Rivercats in Sydney because they travel up the Parramatta River.
Traveling by ferry is a fun filled journey and given a chance i would love traveling by ferries.
