The Horizon Apartments rise above the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. This landmark building with the scalloped balconies was designed by Harry Seidler and Associates and completed in 1998. It was shaped to gain the greatest exposure to views centred on the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. The 43-storey tower contains 260 apartments and an excavated five-storey, 500 car garage.

I have always liked that building. Used to walk by it everyday.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful building and I like the perspective you've given us. I can understand why the architects wanted to maximize the views of the harbor.
ReplyDeleteAmazing building and I'll be the view from the top floor is breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind living on the top floor. Nice photo of the building.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder what it would be like to live in that -- especially on the top.

Good looking at the picture.
ReplyDeleteIf I am somewhere in Sydney and losing my sense of direction and I can't see the bridge, this building is quite useful. It certainly dominates its location and I believe it has very poor soundproofing between apartments.
ReplyDeleteIt might be designed by Seidler et all but to me it still looks like a human filing cabinet.
ReplyDeleteHow many floor might that tall building be? Beautiful architectural design. Love the angle they way you captured.
ReplyDeleteThis looks as if it is a fine place to live. «Louis» et Mme la Vache live in a high-rise complex - their balcony overlooks San Francisco Bay, so he relates well to the thinking behind the design of the building you show.
ReplyDeleteTerrific building and lovely photo!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you:)
Sounds like a great spot to live with awesome views, except of course for folk like me, who don't enjoy heights. Nice pic and angle.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sky Watch Friday, that building has lots of fun shapes about it to make for interesting viewing.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing sight. Nice to see such passion of an architects work / world. Please have a wonderful Friday.
