The empty beach in the southern suburb of Brighton-Le-Sands, looking out across Botany Bay. The beach volleyball courts and the swimming enclosure lie abandoned under the grey skies of Winter, except for a visiting seagull.
Hi, con il caldo che c'è stato in Italia oggi ( soffocante ) un bagno ristoratore ci vorrebbe proprio. Bella questa spiaggia... l'acqua sembra invitarci :-)) Buona giornata.
Jim -- if that were an Oregon beach it would be summer time!Meaning that the sky is blue and the ocean warm-looking and people would be out playing on that gbeach if it were the Pacific Coast off of Oregon! Now, since we're here in Florida, on the other coast, yeah it looks cold.
Difficult to realize this is a wintery scene as we move into the summer season. Such game areas will be set up on Long Beach, New York, tho we don't cordon off swimming areas. The life guards build their hills of sand every mile or so and watch from the top.
Ebie, I suppose we're lucky that our beaches don't always get too crowded. Today in Sydney we're expecting a top of 17 degrees celsius which is about 63 degrees farenheit.
Happy watery wednesday!i just love the beach s0 much
ReplyDeleteman, a rulz on voleyball! :P

I've always wanted to walk on the beach in winter. I never have.
ReplyDeleteWe nearly moved there about 60 years ago. It was a close thing.
ReplyDeleteYour shots echo the chill I'm feeling at this moment! But at least the sun is shining today!
ReplyDeleteI would love to play beach volleyball in there.. Nice.
ReplyDeleteRain for WW
looks full, even empty with people.. love it more this way...
ReplyDeleteAnything Davao
wow an empty patch of sand, where are the revelers?
ReplyDeletehave a great week.
ewok1993, it's too cold for revellers to be at the beach and the sprinkles of rain were keeping even the keenest walkers away.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beach shots....I would love to visit Australia.
ReplyDeleteAlso, in Australian terms, its a pretty ordinary beach, though a lot nicer these days than it used to be.

I bet people can't wait for the weather to warm up so they can go to that gorgeous beach...Christine
ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty...happy WW!
ReplyDeleteBut the deserted beach make for wonderful photos. Clean shots.
ReplyDeleteLiving in the opposite continent, the beaches here are never empty all 4 seasons.
ReplyDeleteWonder how cold it is.

ReplyDeleteLovely beach...why it's empty?
ReplyDeleteAt the first glance I thought you were showing Brighton in England, lol ! But you are only a "little" farer away !
ReplyDeleteIt's seagull's own beach now!
ReplyDeleteNice !!!! ....I like your composition : )
ReplyDeleteeveryone is feeling the cold? Actually I still go to the beach for a walk.

Beautiful beach shots.....Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteStill looks nice in winter but probably feels chilly.
ReplyDeleteNow this is my kind of beach...one that I'd have all to myself!! Awwwww, so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteMy Wednesday issue today...FOUNTAINS & all that Ja-a-a-z-z-z Come on over, my door is always open!
surreal Jim - great composition
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting that Australia is opposite to USA in weather. I have a niece in Canberra who complains about the cold, and its 102F here.
ReplyDeleteIn Sweden it is summer, but today it's only 14 degrees celcius! I think the beach looks lovely. I would love to take a walk there.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the beach for Watery Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteI do love these long beaches.
ReplyDeleteSorry you're heading into the cold stuff. It's just starting to get good here on the North Fork. Bundle up!
ReplyDeleteI bet the beaches will be very crowded as soon as winter passes! You'll just have to wait a bit! Thanks for stopping by at my WW post.
