Sydney Opera House, Sydney Ferries (Theme Day: Public Transportation)

Sydney Ferries operate on Sydney Harbour and its connected waterways. These ferries make their way past the Sydney Opera House arriving at or departing from the Circular Quay ferry terminal, at the edge of the city. The Supercat Class ferry is part of the fleet that primarily services the Eastern Suburbs. It was acquired in 2000 and named after Susie O'Neill, an Australian swimmer and Olympic gold medallist.

  1. Yes, public transport in Sydney harbour is fantastic. Somehow taking the ferry every morning is not quite the same as taking the metro every morning. Go Sydney!

  2. Gorgeous captures! I never tire of seeing the Opera House, it is such a gorgeous building! Love the ferries, too. We have good ferry service in and around Puget Sound, but the ferries aren't quiet as beautiful as yours here. Hope you are resting well and that you have a terrific start to your week in a few hours!

  3. Se non sono in errore, mi sembra che l'opera in fondo sia opera di architetti italiani !!!

  9. Your photos bring back lovely memories from when my husband and I visited friends in Sydney in 2008. Your shots of the opera house are stunning, as are all the others too! Thanks for commenting on my blog :-)

  10. Ferries are my favourite form of transportion, however I far prefer the old ones with the open decks. I miss the South Steyne.

  13. Rosadimaggio63, the Opera House was actually designed by a Danish architect, Jørn Utzon. I'm sure there were some Italians that worked on the building, considering Australia has had so many Italian migrants.
