Petersham, church

This shop and residential building built in the Federation architecture style is located on the corner of Audley Street and Trafalgar Street, in the inner west suburb of Petersham. It has been used as a church by the Petersham Assembly of God since 1965.

  1. It would've been a great shop in its day.

  4. I never would have guessed it's a church! It looks like a train station to me.

  5. Too bad they had to go and stick all of those air conditioners in the windows. It's an interesting place.

  6. I am fascinated with the odd look of the buildings in the federation style. I do not think that it is a particularly aesthetic style. Some look better then others! I guess it was in fashion then. I prefer the old "Queenslanders"! Even the humblest home shows a certain grace.

  9. I would never have guessed it to be a church either and I was thinking, movie theater or perhaps like EG, a train station. It is interesting and different and you got a terrific shot -- as always! Hope your week is off to a great start, Jim!

  10. Interesting architectural style, Jim, but I think I prefer the pretty yellow Victorian in your previous post.

  12. Interesting building, especially the roof on the turret. And an unsual building for a church.

  14. I think this building is quite quite ugly and the one below quite lovely.
