This fire stationis located along Lyons Road, in the inner west suburb of Drummoyne. It was designed by Walter Liberty Vernon in 1910 and built in the Federation Arts and Crafts architectural style.
I can see red inside. Is it still in use? Most of our older fire stations have closed. One I see often had doorways far too narrow to get a present day fire truck into.
Joan Elizabeth, they seem to have built a few in every design across the city. I've seen a few others that are similar to this one too. I'll keep an eye out for that one at Crows Nest.
Wow! That is such a fancy looking station! Ours here is much, much plainer. I like yours better. :)

ReplyDeleteAndrew, this one is still in use. A lot of the older fire stations in Sydney have closed too.
