Harris Park, house

Kenilworth is a heritage listed house in Allen Street, in the western suburb of Harris Park. It was built around 1900 in the Victorian style of architrecture. In recent times it had been used as a school by the Australian International Conservatorium of Music and since 2005 forms part of the Australian International Performing Arts High School.

  3. Very attractive. It is the ironwork and the paint job that make this building special.

  5. quite ornate, Jim and pretty fancy for a High School. My problem with places like this, is that they are beautiful but that they tend to lock the outside out. No windows or in the wrong wall etc.

  7. What an amazing house. The verandas, gables, columns, wrought iron decoration, windows and chimneys are in beautiful proportion and the colours are terrific.

    But oh dear, what happened to that tower thing at the front of the house. It is way out of proportion.

    BETTER THAN BLING

    Some yellow is just the right thing
    To make a sad heart start to sing;
    It fills you with cheer—
    Now isn’t that clear?
    It’s better than any old bling!
