Centennial Park, boardwalk

This boardwalk stands over Duck Pond in Centennial Park, in the eastern suburbs. I'm not sure what the structure in front of it is exactly, because I can't find any information about it, but I think it might be some sort of contemporary sculpture. It could possibly be a giant squid with a belly full of fish or a fisherman's trap net with the catch of the day.

  1. nice capture! could the floating object be some type of fish trap? http://website.lineone.net/~luichart.woollens/Fish0001.jpg

  2. Theanne, an interesting idea but I don't think so. The objects inside are made of coloured metal.

  6. Dianne, I wouldn't think there was a need for lighting considering Centennial Park opens at sunrise and closes at sunset. I did consider whether it was some sort of fountain but that would disrupt the natural environment of the water birds.

  9. I'm amazed at how you give yourself trouble to identify the part, describe it and what you think of it all, just great, I had to smile.

  10. Perhaps its a fish trap or an instrument for observation (for Scientific experiments)? Just guessing. But cool capture, I must say :)
