These two Sydney skyscrapers are viewed from the walkway beside the Cahill Expressway, above Circular Quay railway station. The one on the left is 1 Bligh, a 29 storey office building completed in 2011. The one on the right is The Winter Garden, an office tower and retail complex.
The Cahill, despite it's critics, provides great views north and south.

Yeah, the ones where I reckon they put 'the lid' on the wroong tower. Must take the lift to the garden at the top of One Bligh. CoS raves about it.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is an area that I enjoy taking a walk. Not so many people most of the time and it is so close to the quay where the food is rather expensive hehe. I remembered fish and chips cost like 38 dollars per serving!!!

ReplyDeleteWintergarden I now as I used to work across the road and it has/had a good food hall. One Bligh I have only seem from the outside, really want to have a look inside but never get down there during the week.
ReplyDeleteJim re the garden at One Bligh, keep your eyes open for Sydney Open in November, its just the sort of building that they open up. I'll be away this year so need someone to go on my behalf.

ReplyDeleteWow, yours look funkier than ours. We have 2 famous ones called the Shard and the gherkin. But most London skyscrapers are real blots on the landscape. And why the fuck they are even allowed to build under 100 stories I do not know. Seriously a 50-storey skyscraper is just an embarrassment. Considering London is in direct competition with New York for glamorousness and touristability... ukh!
