Leichhardt, rotunda

This rotunda is located in the middle of  Pioneers Memorial Park, in the inner west suburb of Leichhardt. This unique, contemporary rotunda was built in 1988 for Australia's Bicentennary, which marked the anniversary of European settlement in Australia in 1788.

  4. This has to be the ugliest structure ever built in Sydney. If they wanted a piece of industrial modernism, why put it into a green park used to memorialise our pioneers? Why not in an industrial area?

    1. I don't know whether it's the ugliest structure ever built but I certainly agree that it seems out of place here.
