This ferry wharf on Sydney Harbouris located in the north shore suburb of Milsons Point. The wharf is near the entrance to Luna Park and close to the northern pylons of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is serviced by Sydney Ferries which provide regular services from Circular Quayand Darling Harbour to other suburbs.
The two spires at the end of the bridge are very similar to New York's Chrysler building. I would guess that the resemblance is not accidental and would date their construction to the late 1920s or early 1930s. The Sydney Harbor bridge and the Sidney Opera House are 2 of the most widely recognized structures in the world. I would love to see them in person.
Love this shot.

ReplyDeleteBill, they flank the entrance to Luna Park which opened in 1932, so you're spot on. See the previous post for another view of them.
