Botanic Gardens, Linda da Chamonix

"Linda da Chamonix" is a marble statues which stands in the Royal Botanic Gardens, inspired by the lead character from the 1842 opera "Linda da Chamonix", by Gaetano Donizetti. It was made in Italy and installed in the Botanic Gardens in the 1880s. It is paired up with a statue of another character from the play "Sweep Boy" that I featured here.

  7. G´day Jim,
How are you & the beauty of OZ? It looks like you are enjoying to the max with your FAB weather, huh?

Your post always give me trillions of flashbacks §:-) better than the tourist information. Hope I could come over again in the Land of Promis (as I call Australia). Might be next year.

    Happy Sunday, Down Under.

    1. The great weather certainly gives you some great photo opportunities but it's always a good time to visit Australia.

  8. I get the impression that it is always spring in Sydney! Lovely gardens and sunsets over the water. I scrolled back several weeks to see what I missed since my last visit.

  9. Love seeing the green of the gardens and the lovely shadows cast around the statue. Your photo brings a bit of warmth to the cold drabness of my area.
