Alexandria, The Grounds (Theme Day: Creative Artisan)

"The Grounds of Alexandria" is an artisan bakery, an in-house coffee roastery and cafĂ©, located on the corner of Bourke Road and Huntley Street, in the inner city suburb of Alexandria. It is located in a former pie factory from the early 1900s in the Alexandria Creative Park, which also contains the redeveloped factory, chimney and silo of a former linseed oil factory. This site also features a garden of organic herloom vegetables and fragrant herbs which supplies the kitchen. The truck loaded with hay bails acts creates a unique sign, with the logo painted on the side.

  1. That old truck looks part of the scenery as if it had taken root. Good composition.

  3. The truck alone would make me want to visit this place. The building in the background is icing on the cake.

  9. Very eye-catching and great example of reusing - one of the very dimensions captured in artisanal work! And a great triple-use post.

  10. A very creative sign indeed, and a perfect interpretation of Theme Day. I love finding old trucks, many of which look even more-loved than this one.

  11. My daughter loves this place, but I understand that parking on the weekend is well-nigh impossible. Tuesday early is okay though. Really great entry for the theme, Jim.
