Leichhardt, Methodist Central Hall

The former Methodist Central Hall is located on Wetherill Street, in the inner west suburb of Leichhardt. This heritage listed building was built in 1905 in the Federation Free architectural style. The building is now the home of the Leichhardt Uniting Church. The Uniting Church in Australia is a union of three churches: the Congregational Union of Australia, the Methodist Church of Australasia and the Presbyterian Church of Australia.

  1. "Uniting Church" is very interesting, Jim. I wonder if it is anything like the United Church of Canada. Somehow I suspect it might not be, but I'm not sure why.
    Beautiful photo.

  4. I was thinking it is a nice building. I guess it's not on the earthquake zone, or that would not be bricks.

    1. Yes, we are not in an earthquake zone and we do have a lot of brick buildings in Sydney.
