Martin Place, Snailovation
These two giant blue snail sculptures were recently in Martin Place, outside a Commonwealth Bank of Australia branch. Snailovation are brightly coloured snails that were created by the Cracking Art Group. They were installed on city streets, in parks and squares as part of Art and About Sydney, a festival of art in unusual places which ran last month. The two girls riding them were on their way to the Neon Run, a 5 kilometre night-time run through The Domain and Royal Botanic Garden with four unique neon zones of rock, disco, pop and house music featuring lasers, black lights, strobes, dancers, and DJs.
Love how big and tangible they are. Has the art group places such snails on other parts of the city?

Mersad, there were 24 giant snails located around the city in blue, yellow, orange and pink. I've featured a few from different locations on this blog.
