Paddington, post office

The Paddington post office is located on the corner of Oxford Street and Ormond Street, in the inner city suburb of Paddington. It was designed by James Barnet and built in 1885 in the Victorian Italianate style. A large British Coat of Arms located to the centre of the Oxford Street facade parapet.

  8. How amazing that a] the building is still in great condition and b] it is being used for what it was meant to be in 1885. If Victorian buildings were not destroyed, they tended to be converted into Mackers or tyre shops :(

    1. It sure is one of the few grand post office buildings still being used as a post office. I certainly am glad it hasn't been turned into a Maccas and thankfully there isn't one in this suburb.
