Botanic Gardens, Sydney Tropical Centre (Theme Day: Triangles)

The Sydney Tropical Centre in the Royal Botanic Gardens houses displays of tropical plants. The Pyramid Glasshouse opened in 1972 and is linked by an underground foyer to the Arc Glasshouse which opened in 1990. The glasshouses were closed to the public early last year for redevelopment but the work has not begun yet.

  1. Hope they get on to it soon Jim it's a really unusual feature and would surely add to the botanical garden experience.

  6. I assumed a pyramid would play into this theme somewhere along the line, but I wasn't expecting Australia! Nice one.

  9. Hi Jim. When I read that this months theme was triangles and I immediately thought of a pyramid. Sadly not time to find a pyramid in Melbourne. So glad you posted this beauty from Sydney. Cheers J.

  12. I too expect Paris for manmade glass triangles, not Australia. Nice surprise and unusual work of art.

  13. I wonder what Mr O'Farrell has in store here, Jim. Reins on purse strings, me thinks. Tight reins.

    1. That seems to be the trend but I just hope they don't get rid of the pyramid though.

  19. Good shot! That's a great triangle! And the palm trees make me think of the Egyptian desert...I suppose that's the intention?
