A view of George Street, looking past the historic shopfronts, hotels and postbox at The Rocks, towards the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Museum of Contemporary Art is on the right, beside the police station.
Great look at your city, Jim, and I do love the bridge!! Beautiful blue skies as always and wonderful street lamps! You don't see many like those anymore! Hope you have a good week!!
a lovely view from where you stood Jim. I shared coffee with friends at the Museum of Contemporary Art recently; a great spot by the harbour with so much buzzing vibes
do you know why The Museum of Contemporary Art was placed in the oldest part of Sydney? Did it go into an old building, re-purposed for the arts? Or was a brand new building built?
Yes, the Museum of Contemporary Art has been in the art deco, former Maritime Services Board Building since 1991. The part that can be seen in this photo is the extension that was built in 2012.
I was there only a few weeks ago enjoying lunch with my 3 brothers, sister and their partners. I was in Sydney for my brother's 50th. We ate at a lovely Pizzeria on the left.
