Drummoyne, signs

The forecourt of this bank on the corner of Lyons Road and Formosa Street, in the inner west suburb of Drummoyne, is crowded with signs. Apart from the usual bank and parking signs here, the most curious one is the large "LONGLONG" sign which seems to be a piece of street art and barrier. The rubbish bin lists what you might see on the nearby Iron Cove "boatsheds and rivercats, 12 foot skiffs and tinnies". The other interesting thing are the supports along the newsagency wall that were placed there after the adjoining shopfront was demolished to build this bank so far back from Lyons Road.

  1. Curious as to what was on the mind of the "artist" when s/he put together the longlong sign. Hmmmm.

  3. Whatever its purpose, the longlong sign looks as if it was carefully designed.

    1. I wondered if it might be an Aboriginal name but I couldn't find anything to indicate it is.

  5. There is certainly a lot going on in front of this bank. The big sign is certainly intriguing.
