St. Joseph's Catholic Church is located along Rosebery Avenue between Morley Avenue and Kimberley Grove, in the eastern suburb of Rosebery. This heritage listed, two storey church was built in 1929 in the Inter-War Romanesque architectural style.
Too bad they have such an ugly fence around such a beautiful church! I'll b et if you're in the inside int he late afternoon, that round window would have some great light coming through it.
I think that the only time I have seen a cyclone fence round a church - usually Catholic - is when there is a primary school in the grounds. The round window is especially enchanting.
I must say that, apart from the rather nice rose window, it doesn't look much like a church. And is the fence designed to keep non-RCs out, or the congregation in?
