Ultimo, Farmers and Graziers warehouse
The former Farmers and Graziers No.1 woolstore is located along Wattle Street, in the inner city suburb of Ultimo. It was built in 1895 in the Federation architectural style. To expand the capacity, the Farmers and Graziers No.2 warehouse was built around the corner of Macarthur Street in Jones Street in 1935. This heritage listed building was converted to apartments and retail space in the 1990s.

ReplyDeleteSallie, yes in this case it was sheep but a grazier can be a farmer who grazes cattle or sheep on a rural property.

To me the word Graziers always sounds like it's describing the ones who graze ie the sheep & cattle. Nice to see that this old building is still being used.

ReplyDeleteThis would be a beautiful place to live. Those windows are heavenly. My first apartment...before any children...just two of us...all of our windows were like this and I LOVED them.
