Newtown, cafe (Theme Day: Scene from a Coffee House)

This cafe is located on the corner of Missenden Road and Longdown Street and in the inner city suburb of Newtown. It is part of a heritage listed row of former Victorian Filigree style terrace houses designed by Herbert S Thompson and constructed in 1890. This is the original Campos coffee shop which has established a great reputation with its brand of coffee now available across Australia in Campos coffee shops and many other cafes. The cafe has been painted in the company colour of olive green and features a mural of their logo which is a latte art rosetta.

  4. You and Gracie in Perth seem to be on the same wave length. She posted photos of cafes. This old building turned into a coffee house is so nice and I really like the artwork on the side. As usual...the old preserved, kept pristine, and used for a different purpose. Have you been losing followers as I have? It night be that you have your followers listed by Follow this site with Google Friend Connect. 1. Thanks for that info, genie. I've lost about 90 followers and I'm disappointed that Google have made this change. Sadly, I have a feeling that some of those followers are not regular users and will unlikely be signing up to a Google account and then coming back to follow.

  5. Clever of them to use a recognisable logo as a mural for their cafe.

    1. They have a huge problem with graffiti tags in this and nearby inner city suburbs. Even the heritage listed buildings do not escape unscathed. Thankfully those with the murals tend to avoid being targets.

  13. Exactly what I thought it was. But didn't know it was called latte art. I always appreciate a foam design on my cappuccino as well as this capture. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
