The main entrance of the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, located on the corner of George Street and Circular Quay Way at The Rocks. The heritage listed building was designed in the Inter-War Stripped Classical architectural style in 1939 but wasn't constructed until 1946-1952. It was built to accomodate the Maritime Services Board and in 1991 opened as the Museum of Contemporary of Art. The sandstone sculpture by Lyndon Dadswell and various metal-work elements enchance the entry area.
That is an imposing Art Deco door. Most appropriate for an art museum.
