Circular Quay, wharf and ferry

This ferry at Circular Quay ferry wharf is an Emerald class ferry operated by Sydney Ferries which entered service on Sydney Harbour in 2017. It is named Bungaree for an Aboriginal Australian from the Broken Bay area, who was known as an explorer, entertainer and community leader.

Park Regis City Centre Hotel, Victoria Towers

The Park Regis City Centre Hotel is located on the corner of Park Street and Castlereagh Street. It was built in 1968 and was once one of the tallest buildings in Sydney. I was only able to take a photo from this angle after buildings on the opposite corner were recently demolished to build a station for the new Sydney Metro railway line. Victoria Towers is the 38 storey apartment building on the left, located along Castlereagh Street, it was built in 1997 above the Castlereagh Club, formerly the Catholic Club.

Milsons Point, Luna Park, Coney Island

Coney Island is part of the Luna Park amusement park, in the north shore suburb of Milsons Point. Coney Island Funny Land is a heritage listed fun house designed by Rupert Brown, which opened in 1935. This art deco building features such classic amusements as the Turkey Trot, Barrel of Laughs, Giant Slides and the Wonky Walk

Milsons Point, Luna Park, ferris wheel

This ferris wheel rises to 40 metres above the lights of Luna Park amusement park, in the north shore suburb of Milsons Point. Sitting close to the northern pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, it provides spectacular views of Sydney Harbour.

Botanic Gardens, Vivid Sydney, Parrot Party

"Parrot Party" is an artwork which features a cheerful flock of brightly coloured birds perched on staggered tiers in the Vista Pavilion in the Royal Botanic Garden, as part of the Vivid Sydney festival, which this year ran from 25 May to 16 June, 2018. It was created by Australian artist Zara Pasfield in collaboration with Christopher Daniel and Samuel Dessen. The parrots chatter, tweet, chirp and sing, sending out a warm and inviting welcome to all who enter the pavilion. The artists took inspiration from the Australian rainbow lorikeet and the native New Zealand kea parrot.

The Rocks, Harrington Street, mural

This is one of four murals that have been painted on the underpass of the Cahill Expressway where it crosses Harrington Street, at The Rocks. The murals were created by Geoff Williams in 2011, depicting the city as it was in the past. This mural is of a photo taken in 1901 from where it is being painted. It features terrace houses which were demolished because of the bubonic plague.

Rookwood, Ukranian memorial

The Ukranian memorial is in Rookwood Necropolis, the largest multicultural cemetery in the southern hemisphere, in the western suburb of Rookwood.

Sydney Opera House, Vivid Sydney, Lighting The Sails

The Sydney Opera House was illuminated for the Vivid Sydney Festival, the festival of light, music and ideas, which ran from 25 May to 16 June, 2018. The theme of Lighting of the Sails, this year was Mathemagical created by Australian artist Jonathan Zawada.

Sydney Harbour Bridge, Vivid Sydney

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is lit up for Vivid Sydney festival, which ran from 25 May to 16 June, 2018. Beams of light rise into the night sky from the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay.

Luna Park, Vivid Sydney, The Night.Reimagined

"The Night.Reimagined" gave visitors the chance to turn their selfie into a personalised AR emoji projected on the iconic face at the entrance at Luna Park, in the north shore suburb of Milsons Point. It was part of the Vivid Sydney festival.

Botanic Gardens, Vivid Sydney, The Bower

"The Bower" is an artwork installed in the Royal Botanic Gardens, as part of the Vivid Sydney festival, which ran from 25 May to 16 June, 2018. It was created by Australian Ruth McDermott and Ben Baxter, supported by Xenian Lighting. It is inspired by one of the great builders of the natural world, the Australian male satin bower bird who creates impressive structures surrounded by blue objects with the sole aim of attracting a mate.

Botanic Gardens, Vivid Sydney, The Nautilus Forest

''The Nautilus Forest'' is an illuminated forest of spiralling trees installed in the Royal Botanic Gardens, as part of the Vivid Sydney festival. It was created by Australian Adrienn Lord from Mandylights in collaboration with Richard Neville and Nick Sheen from the UK. The Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge can be seen in the background.

Government House, Vivid Sydney, Photonic State

"Photonic State" is an animated light projection on the facade of Government House in the Botanic Gardens, as part of the Vivid Sydney festival. It was created by TAFE NSW (Technical and Further Education New South Wales) students as an homage to contemporary and modern Australian designers and artists with a celebration of Australia's art and cultural iconography.

Rookwood, St Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church

St Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church is located on the corner of Weekes Avenue and Carpenter Avenue, in Rookwood Cemetery. It was originally built in 1992 but later extended and its facade altered.
