Marrickville, mural

These murals of menacing magpies are on the door and roller door of a warehouse along Chapel Street, in the inner west suburb of Marrickville.

  1. Oh, I love these funny birds (when not aggressive, that is).

  2. Menacing? But they are SO cute and the murals are both well done.

  3. Nice mural Jim, thanks for participating. Magpies can be quite friendly too. We have quite a few who seem to live in the park across the road, and if they see us in the front garden they will come and ask for food. I throw them walnuts or olives and they keep on coming back for more. I heard somewhere that they will recognize people who are good to them and won't attack them.

    1. That's interesting, Sami. I did not know that. I have been swooped and attacked by some though, probably protecting their nest.

  4. I love murals on buildings. How clever they are. I hope you and yours are ok in Sydney and surrounds Jim. The fires have been horrific.

    1. Yes, thanks Jill. We are safe in the city but the surrounds are still battling the fires.
