Petersham Town Hall

Petersham Town Hall is located on the corner of Crystal Street and Frederick Street, in the inner west suburb of Petersham. It was designed by Rudder & Grout and built in 1938 in the art deco and inter-war style. Marrickville Municipal Council was enlarged by merging with Petersham and St Peters councils in 1949 and this space is now used as a community hall and community centre.

  1. I don't know Petersham and haven't seen this town hall, but I am very impressed with the 1938 design. I wonder if they knew that war was just around the corner ,,, again.

  2. What a gorgeous building! It's good to know that it is still in use.
