These terrace houses are located in Mitchell Street, in the southern suburb of Arncliffe. These heritage listed houses were constructed c1896 in the Victorian Filigree style by builder Thomas List, who occupied them as his personal residence until 1909.

  1. What a wonderful looking house.
I bet the character continues inside too.

  2. Many thanks. Was it called Victorian Filigree style because of the downstairs windows and doors?

    1. It's the ornamental work in steel on the balconies. It could be on screen doors too but the ones here are not the originals.

  3. I’d never heard of filigree style architecture before, but seeing this home I now understand it exactly! And I will be able to identify it if I am ever lucky enough to see a lovely old home built in this style.
