Five Dock, war memorial

The Five Dock War Memorial stands in Five Dock Park, in the inner west suburb of Five Dock. In the centre of the rotunda is an octagonal shaped plinth with honour roll plaques of the names of those from the area who served in World War 1 and World War 2. Today is ANZAC Day, which marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War in 1915.

  1. Has some sort of mesh been added to the windows? It was great when we could look from the inside into the interior.
    Lest we forget.

    1. It's unfortunate that they had to install the mesh screens. It previously had wide bars which you can see in the link. I assume it originally was just open air. I assume they had problems with vandals which is sad.

  3. Interesting. It seems like honoring these soldiers is the least we can do. There is really no way we can completely repay them.
